Here We Go!

I have finally decided to set up a gluten free health, beauty and living blog. I’m certainly no expert on health or beauty (or even living, for that matter) but I am on a winding road trying to figure out what works best for me. I have been on a gluten free, dairy free vegetarian diet for a long, long time now. This means cooking, eating out, skincare products, nail polish and make-up are ALL accompanied by a warning sign. Did I mention how the lack of gluten free, allergy friendly products in Dubai makes this so much more difficult?

Yes, I’m struggling. I really really am.

  1. Hey,
I just noticed you posted about gluten-free makeup.. and the post showed up on my wall.
The “gluten-free” words caught my eye. My boyfriend has celiac disease.. and he’s been on a gluten-free diet for years now ever since he was diagnosed. I know how tough it is to find stuff to eat especially when you’re at a place that clearly is not suitable for your diet.

I would recommend looking into the Schar products. They are pioneers in gluten-free meals and have pasta, cake, and other items that are on the market for consumers.
My boyfriend’s mom (she’s got Celiac disease too) works for the company so I know that they are good products and are widely available online. I don’t know if they’re available in Dubai though, but it’s worth looking into?
There is hope that things are going to get better as people are more exposed to the importance of having gluten-free products for people with gluten allergies.

Good luck with your journey, and feel free to message me on FB if you have any other questions. I really don’t know much about the issue… but I am slowly learning because of him. So hopefully I can help you out in terms of product availability, etc. 🙂

    Take care!

    • Hi Ashani! So sorry to hear that your boyfriend and his mother are dealing with Celiac. Like you said, there is hope, and things are definitely getting better! Thanks for writing – it was nice to hear that someone understands what it’s like 🙂
